CHARLES BUSCH RETURNS TO CATSKILL’S BRIDGE STREET THEATRE IN “MY KINDA ’60S”
He’s back! Tony nominee,
Drama Desk Lifetime Achievement honoree, and
two-time MAC Award winner Charles Busch returns to
Catskill’s intimate Bridge Street Theatre on
Saturday February 24 at 4:00pm for a special
one-time-only benefit performance of his most
personal cabaret show ever: “My Kinda ’60s.”
This thrilling new show, which premiered last
September at Feinstein’s/54 Below in Manhattan and
recently received a 2017 Broadway World Cabaret
Award as “Best Show – Celebrity Male”, whisks
audiences back to the Manhattan of the tumultuous
1960s. Charles interweaves personal anecdotes of a
childhood and adolescence spent coming of age under
the guidance of his indomitable Aunt Lillian with
songs from the decade by such artists as Burt
Bacharach, Jimmy Webb, The Beatles, Henry Mancini,
Bob Dylan, Stephen Sondheim, and Kander and Ebb.
Appearing with Mr. Busch in this unique,
hilarious, and poignant evening of music and
story-telling will be his long-time musical
director/arranger Tom Judson.
“My Kinda ’60s”
will be performed once only, Saturday February 24,
at 4:00 in the afternoon on the Bridge Street
Theatre Mainstage, located at 44 West Bridge Street
in the Village of Catskill, NY.
Doors will open at 3:00pm for a pre-performance “High Tea” in the theatre’s Speakeasy with tea provided by Veridigris Tea and Chocolate Bar and the show will be followed by a champagne reception with the artists.
Tickets for the general public are $60 and will be available beginning on February 5. However, if you purchase a 2018 Bridge Street Theatre Season Subscription, you’ll receive special access to $50 tickets. But you’d better hurry – Charles Busch’s previous appearance at Bridge Street Theatre was hopelessly sold out weeks in advance of the performance date.
